With the aim of enhancing livelihoods and skills for SHG members, DAY-NRLM’s Digital Aajeevika Register mobile app has started gathering data across 34 Indian states, marking a significant milestone in rural development. Developed by Digital India, the app serves as a vital tool for Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) to track and improve the income options of SHG members.
Streamlining Livelihood Tracking
Integrated with the LokOS mobile platform, the Digital Aajeevika Register app eliminates the need for multiple applications. It serves as a centralised platform to record and track SHG members’ livelihood activities, including Lakhpati Didis. This would help the federations mission units and other stakeholders to track progress over time and provide necessary assistance to elevate every SHG household to a Lakhpati status.
Impact Across 34 States
The nationwide rollout is expected to strengthen Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) in providing timely training and support to SHG members. Over 1 Crore livelihood profiles have already been created in the app, with around 3 lakh Community Resource Persons (CRPs) trained to ensure accurate data capture. This streamlined approach is enhancing the efficiency of the SHG ecosystem, offering members faster access to essential resources.
Future Plans for the App
Currently, the app collects data for identified and potential Lakhpati Didis, but as it evolves, it will include all SHG members to foster overall growth in the SHG ecosystem. This broader rollout will play a crucial role in the ongoing digital transformation. The Aajeevika Register is another arrow in DAY-NRLM’s quiver, bringing rural households a step closer to the vision of a digital India.
